- State and Federal laws now require that a prospective buyer of your home see and acknowledge a Sellers Disclosure and a Lead Based Paint Disclosure PRIOR to signing a Purchase Agreement. If they are not signed PRIOR to the Purchase Agreement on your home, the buyer may have the opportunity to back out of a sale even AFTER closing!

Many people have no idea if their home has lead based paint. If your home was built after January 1, 1978, then that is all you need to answer. Lead based paint has been off the market and banned since then.
